On May 18–19, Riga hosted the annual Rimi Riga Marathon, offering enthusiasts of the long run a wide range of distances, great emotions, and sunny weather. This year, 33 003 runners from 104 countries registered for various distances, which, according to the organisers, is almost the biggest number of participants registered for the Rimi Riga Marathon in the event's history. This year, 26 enthusiastic members of the joint BENU Aptieka and Tamro Baltics team joined the ranks of the Marathon participants, representing 5 km, 10 km un 21 km running distances, enjoying the great atmosphere and feeling satisfied with their achievements.
Inese Žēpere, Director of Quality and Processes at Tamro Baltics, who completed the challenging 21 km half-marathon, says she had been participating in the Rimi Riga Marathon every year for about 10 years. "I really like this event because there are both fantastic people and a great atmosphere – for me, the Riga Marathon is like the Song Festival," says Inese Žēpere. Director of Quality and Processes Baltics says that running has been her daily routine for several years and it has significantly changed both her well-being and improved her health. "Running gives me a boost of energy and a better mood, since I run every day, I can do more than before!" As for her performance in this year's Riga Marathon, Inese Žēpere says that she is very happy with what she has done, because despite the unusual heat, the run was quite easy and the finish line was reached without any incidents.
We are happy and proud of our sporty and courageous colleagues and congratulate everyone from BENU Aptieka and Tamro Baltics team for their participation in this great running festival, emotions and results! Keep it up!
